Stainless steel roller chains are particularly resistant to acids, alkalis, and low-temperature environments. Stainless steel roller chains have a higher strength rating than standard chains, but are not as strong as chains made from carbon steel. If you are using a roller chain in a very dirty environment, you should use a stainless steel chain.
